Touring cars have taken the RC world by storm, and Team Associated’s 10L3 Touring is a new high-performance, low-cost alternative to the more expensive and complex 4WD touring cars on the market today. Based on the race-proven Associated 10L-series technology, the L3 Touring is tailored to fit most standard 190mm-width touring sedan and GT-1 style bodies and includes some components as standard features that are usually only available as expensive optional equipment. The result is a touring car that can outperform most 4WD sedans, especially on high-traction, indoor carpet tracks.
The 10L3 Touring is available in two versions, a Sport kit that includes a composite chassis and bushings, and a Team version with a graphite chassis, ball bearings and specially-selected compound Jaco tires mounted on their lightweight composite wheels. Team Associated’s exclusive VCS Macro Shock handles the front-to-rear dampening and suspension, and two VCS Micro Shocks handle the side-to-side dampening and allow easy tweak adjustments on the Team version.
For racers seeking an extra performance edge, Associated also offers many optional hop-ups, including a carbon-fiber left bulkhead, a lightweight machined magnesium motor mounting bulkhead, and a full "Factory Blue" aluminum screw kit. RC12l4 Kit Features
These battery trays provide approximately .150" (4mm) of battery
movement to shift the weight of the cells forward for more steering,
or backward for more rear traction. Just lift out, turn around, and
put back in.
The
rear suspension of the Team version is three-shock design. Two of Team
Associated's super-smooth VCS Micro Shocks handle the side-to-side dampening
and tweak, eliminating the need for tweak screws. The larger center shock is
the new VCS Macro Shock, a lightweight, full-composite shock with Team
Associated's exclusive Volume Compensating System for the smoothest
possible, most consistent dampening. A full assortment of different springs
are available for both the VCS Micro and Macro Shocks for greater tuning
options. The Sport Kit version uses tweak screws instead of side shocks.
The
left wheel hub in both kits has a new "clamping" design, and both rear hubs
have been redesigned and milled out for substantial weight savings. There's
no need to buy expensive, aftermarket hubs anymore—these new hubs are
unsurpassed for the tightest manufacturing tolerances and concentricity, and
are made of the lightest, strongest aircraft-quality T-6 aluminum available.
Team
Associated’s new featherweight (approx. 1/5 oz.), high-density foam bumper
protects and supports the front of your car’s body, and provides excellent
chassis protection from the high-speed impacts of oval racing. It comes in
both kit versions with the body post holes already in place.
Jaco
tires are the choice of many world-class on road racers, and due to an
exclusive agreement with Pro-Line Racing, Team Associated is able to offer
the 10L3 Touring with specially-selected compound Jaco tires mounted on
their lightweight composite wheels at no extra cost.
Associated's new, improved Factory Team rear axle is also included in the
Team kit, and its graphite-through construction makes it the most concentric,
strongest, and lightest rear axle design on the market today.
The RC10L3 Touring utilizes Team Associated's Dynamic Strut Front Suspension
with fully adjustable caster, camber and toe-in. A set of Team Associated's
new Factory Team blue titanium turnbuckles are included in the Team kit
for their light weight and outstanding strength.
