3) "Where Do They Race?" TRACKS AND CLUBS

Indoor R/C track

R/C tracks and clubs are found in many cities around the world. The best way to find out about them is through your local R/C hobby shop. Track locations and upcoming races are listed in R/C car magazines found in the hobby shops. The Associated web site has a track listing as well. You may want to base your car or truck purchase upon the track in your area. The better tracks will provide shade for the drivers, an elevated driver's stand, electricity, running water, spare parts shop, and snack bar.

Several governing bodies, such as ROAR (Radio Operated Auto Racing) and IFMAR (International Federation of Model Auto Racing), serve the hobby and provide rules and consistency from race to race. The most important National and World Championships are governed by rules from these organizations and attract the world's best racers, providing the most exciting racing you can watch. Separate National and World Championships are held for the various scales in on and off road type vehicles. Local, national, and international races are held, the larger races drawing hundreds of racers worldwide to compete or learn from the best racers from around the world. Winners frequently receive trophies or other prizes.
