Engine will not start

Problem:

Solution:

Engine is lean at idle.

Richen by turning your low speed fuel mixture screw counterclockwise.

Explanation

R/C fuel is specially formulated to lubricate the engine. If the fuel mixture is too lean, this means that there is too little fuel in the engine to lubricate it, and therefore the engine overheats. Optimum engine temperature is 220°.

Step-by-step help

If you must make carb adjustments, do the following.

1. Stop the engine and let it cool down.

2. Turn your low speed fuel mixture screw counterclockwise (1/8 to 1/4 turn) to let more lubricating fuel in.

3. Now run your engine. After a while check it's temperature. If it's over 220°, then follow steps 1-3 again.
