Transmission screw(s) missing or loose. |
Add the missing screws or tighten them. |
The transmission screws in the GT play an important part in keeping the chassis stiff. When those screws are missing or loose, then the chassis can flex, causing the spur and pinion gear mesh to change. Since the pinion gear is metal, it is usually the plastic spur gear teeth that suffer.
To check if your transmission screws are the problem, do the following.
1. Look at the bottom of the chassis and check if any transmission screws are missing.
2. If none are missing, screw them in so see if they are loose and must be tightened.
If screws are the problem, do the following.
1. Check your manual for correct missing screw part number and size and get new
ones.
2. Screw them into the chassis and motor mount where missing.
3. If screws are loose, simply tighten them. Tighten them at the end of each run if necessary.
