Stripped Gears

Problem:

Solution:

Landing off jump strips spur gear.

Stop landing off jumps with finger on trigger.

Explanation

When your truck lands on its rear off a jump, it creates a heavy load on the rear tires, almost locking them momentarily. If you are pulling the throttle trigger while the wheels are locked, and the Associated slipper clutch is set tight, then the spur gear's plastic teeth will bear the brunt of the engine load and give way. Do not pull the trigger when landing.

Quick Check

To check if this is the problem, do the following.
1. Ask yourself if you are or have been pulling the trigger during and after a jump. If Yes, then this may be the problem. If No, then you can stop here and look elsewhere for a solution.

Step-by-step help

If this is the problem, do the following.

1. Stop landing off jumps with throttle on.
