Drivers vote TC6 workshop at Ardent Raceway a major success

Over twenty Team Associated TC6 owners made it to the indoor venue at Ardent Raceway for the first TC6 workshop, organized by the CML/Associated on-road team. No one was sure of the response the invitation would receive, but the concept proved a real success for all concerned.

Drivers braved the driving rain and spray-covered motorways for a ten o’clock start at Ardent, with an introduction to the team drivers followed by a questions-and-answers session, and the chance for the team to share some tuning secrets.

Questions ranged from specific topics about the TC6 set-up and build, through to general ones about being on the team and drivers' expectations for 2011.

After this, drivers were split into smaller groups for some closer one-to-one mentoring. Olly Jefferies, Steve Lander, and Chris Slater were able to give more time to specific questions and spent time looking over customers' cars and equipment, offering advice on areas of possible improvement. Other Team members on hand included Zak Smith, Tom Jefferies, and new omers to the team for 2011, Andy Murray and Johnny Aird.

Following a break for lunch it was on to the track for some driving tips, with team members driving customer TC6’s, and advising on set up before providing some driving tips on getting the best from their chassis.

All in all, a major success. Big smiles all round with everyone commenting on the experience and shared knowledge from the team, with all keen to get back to their home tracks and put into practice their new-found knowledge. Even CML’s Jason Varley enjoyed a stint behind the sticks, despite the fact that the last TC he drove was brushed 12-turn motor and NiMh batteries and had a one-way front diff!

CML would like to thank the team and customers for their support for this event and hope it can be the first of many.
