The 2014 Reedy Truck Race of Champions once again returned to Hot Rod Hobbies for another great year of stadium truck and short course truck racing. This year was a two-day event with three qualifiers and triple A mains.

Friday was practice and racers were greeted with windy and hot Southern California conditions. The layout was traditional Hot Rod Hobbies: flowing turns, smooth jumps, and a fast pace. In round 1 of qualifying the T4.2s with the Centro conversions of Steven Hartson and Kevin Motter were setting the pace. The trucks were working well and the speed was unreal on this high-bite, blue-groove track. Kevin Motter got the TQ of the first round and set the early mark to beat. As qualifying continued, the Team Associated duo continued to put in solid runs to secure their positions going into the triple A-main events.

For the triple A mains, Hartson switched up his tire choice looking for a bit more speed and it paid off. In A1, Hartson capitalized on an early mistake by TQ Cody Turner that allowed him to take the lead and he never looked back, taking the win in A1. In A2, Turner didn't make a mistake and took the win, setting the stage for a winner-take-all A3. In A3, Turner got a good start and was setting a blistering pace. Hartson was able to match his pace and kept the pressure on Turner, trying to force a mistake. About half way through, Turner made a mistake over the triple, which allowed Hartson to pass. The never-give-up attitude of Kevin Motter saw him also get by Turner, which vaulted him into the second overall position, making it a Team Associated 1-2 finish.
