After a fourth-place finish in round one of the BRCA TC Nationals, Chris Grainger knew that he needed a good result in round two at Mendip to hoist himself back into the championship hunt. The task at first appeared difficult, as drivers were greeted by a wet track on Saturday morning with mixed conditions forecast throughout the day.

However, by the start of qualifying the track had dried completely and the potential for wet rounds subsided. Grainger and his Reedy-powered TC6.2 took advantage of the dry conditions to top the time sheets in qualifying round two. Grainger delivered with another TQ run in qualifying round four and when all was said and done, he took top-qualifying honors and the coveted number-one grid position for the three-leg A-final.

New tires and a steady drive from the pole position gave Grainger the win in leg 1.  He followed it with another win in leg 2 to secure the round victory and maximum points.

The BRCA drivers now head to Stafford where Grainger looks to repeat his impressive result while solidifying his position as a championship contender.
