Team Associated Brings the Heat to Wildflower RC

New driver Chris Rakus and I, Blake Boggs, attended Bring the Heat, held at Wildflower RC in Spring Hill, TN. The race brought 123 entrants from surrounding states and produced a nice level of competition for every class. I ran 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 1/10 Mod 2WD Buggy, and 1/10 Mod 4WD Buggy. Chris ran 1/8 Nitro Buggy and 1/8 Electric Buggy.

In 1/8 Nitro Buggy I ended up taking the TQ and win with the newly released RC8B3, with Chris Rakus taking P3 and second after a close battle in the main. The RC8B3 Team Kit ended up proving itself very reliable and easy to drive on the breaking-up track. We finished ahead of the competition by a few laps for a very solid first outing.

In 1/8 Electric Buggy Chris put in some solid qualifiers to land him in the fourth starting position with his Factory Team RC8.2e for the main. As the main started, he immediately got by second and third and started charging hard for the lead. He caught TLR driver Martin Harrison and battled him for the majority of the race. Chris eventually made a mistake that put him 2 seconds back for a second-place finish.

In Mod 2WD I had a few rough qualifiers that started me off in the second spot. As the race got started I battled with the leader for a few laps. I ended up sneaking by and putting in a large gap for the rest of the race and taking the win. My Team Associated RC10B5 rear motor with Reedy power was amazing thoughout the entire race.

In Open 4WD Buggy I had some mechanical failures in qualifying that landed me in the third starting position. I once again battled for a few laps, then opened up a large gap to eventually take the win by a considerable margin with my Reedy-powered Factory Team B44.3.

Thanks to Blake Boggs for this report.
