I received my start in downhill when a friend, Tony Gradillas, talked me into trying a race at Angel Fire Bike Park in 2004, as part of the Mountain States Cup Series. From that race forward, I was hooked on mountain biking. The fun, friendly atmosphere of the Mountain States Cup Series quickly became my home for racing and remains my favorite series to race in today. In racing I have always made it a point to one, work hard towards my goals, and two, to work hard towards having an active role in the cycling community. The people that make up the cycling community are some of the most genuine, fun loving, and memorable people I have encountered and have all had an active role in helping me become the person I am today.
