"What do you say to help someone decide between buying an electric buggy or truck? "

If you want to race buy a Buggy, if you want to play buy a truck, over here the buggy class is the biggest. O'yeah congrats on winning the worlds.......

As an observation, trucks are easier to see due to its larger size. Trucks are built "Beefier" due to the higher inherent weight- so they seems more durable. Buggies as a rule seem harder to drive since they are light and "jittery", and get tossed around more easily. A buggy however will ultimately be faster in the hands of more experienced driver.

the truck is easier to drive

eventually you will buy both!

I believe the buggy is a more of a "track" car, because of its size and the truck more of a "play" car, because of just the opposite

I run a hobby shop so I try to find out where they will use the RC most of the time.

DO YOU WANT A LAZY FEEL OR DO YOU WANT SOMETHING MORE RESPONSIVE?

trucks are easier to drive, a little slower in general, but on the other hand I love my b4 and there is nothing better than a b4.

I have both but I would pick my t3 over my b3 any day. Just because it is more fun to drive

If I knew somebody that wanted either a buggy or a truck, I would ask them two questions: 1) Are you mainly going to race or are you also going to do "backyard bashing"? and 2) are you experienced or a beginner? If you said that you will be doing racing, I would recommend a buggy, but for backyard bashing, a truck. I would also recommend a truck if you are a beginner, trucks are generally more forgiving than buggies. The most important advice that I would give is, DON'T BUY A LOSI!!!!!!

I would say go for the truck. Over the years I have noticed that trucks seem to be a lot easier to drive then buggies.

Buggies are definitely more fun, but are slightly harder to control. When trucks are great for beginners. Buggies tend to take some monstrous jumps, land them, then when you go to take a look at the damage to it, and there's none. While trucks on the other hand, hit a jump, go check the damage, and look, a broken shock. I cant tell ya how many ties I broke a shock on my truck. BUGGIES NEVER BREAK!!! or so it seems. It's your choice though, not mine, so bottom line... get a buggy, much more fun, and rarely needs fixing. At least not mine. :-p

Trucks are more stable but the B4 is the WORLD CHAMPION!

I would say "If you are going to be racing go with the buggy, it can be very fast and it is not as much of a car that will flip over very much." But, if you are going to be just messing around at your house on gravel bumps and jumps that you won't need to be flying by with other cars on your side then take the truck"

buy a t4. its the smoothest r/c vehicle on the planet. period.

Well, I assume the truck in question is a Stadium? If so, I totally am biased because I think a stadium truck isn't even a truck! It really reminds me of a "low rider" and has no purpose other than with "fatties and spinners"! A Buggy on the other hand has been around since I can remember. (aaaaaahhhh the good 'ol gold chassis and white nylon days:) There is nothing better than your FIRST electric buggy!

You spell out what it is best for, buggies are nimble, fast and better if your idea of fun is sharp turns, 2WD power slides etc. Trucks are better at the serious off road stuff where the aim is not to tear around at full throttle. I would look for a list of chassis features, speed and duration figures to help decide if truck a or b is better for the money. If you bought a real automobile you would get power, MPG and speed figures to help decide, so why not invent an RC scale?

I explain that buggies handle better, but trucks are easier for a beginner to drive.

If you are I first time rc'er get the truck. It will be easy to drive. If you have had some time with rc you will have a lot of fun with the buggy.

A buggy will make you a better driver.

which class do they run the most at your track

When comparably equipped, the buggy will be faster in all aspects, but will be harder to drive than the truck. The truck will be more stable because of its larger wheelbase and stance. If you want to race, a truck is usually a good place to start for a beginner, but if you want to race competitively, buy a buggy.

I say IT DOESN'T MATTER AS LONG AS IT IS A ASSOCIATED!!!!!

If you want something light and very quick buy a buggy

I say the truck is always the way to go. that's what I got and nothing wrong so far. go trucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go with the truck because you can run it in doors on oval or off-road. Trucks are fun and I love running my T3 any time i get to.

if you want speed go with buggy and it you want durability go with the truck

Buy whatever the club you live near drives the most, but if the club got races for both classes remember that the truck is more stable and that makes it faster.

I would have to pick the truck. It's much more versatile. I've heard many people say that buggies are so much faster but honestly I don't see that much difference. With the truck you can still have loads of fun in your backyard, hitting the big jumps, or whatever. Then you can still go and race it on the weekend. My B3 can't make it through my yard after the grass grows a couple of inches.

by a buggy because there cooler and faster. u can get lots of hop ups for them too.

I would say would you want fastness or a big truck to jump hills and stuff.

buggys are funner!

Get the truck. Then, you can use the same tires on your gas truck as your electric truck if you have both. Neither Associated or Losi makes a 2wd gas buggy because there's not enough interest in that. With the money you'll save on tires, you can use on other go-fast goodies and be more competitive. This is assuming, of course, that the manufacturer uses the same rims on it's electric truck as it does on it's gas truck (a couple of generations ago, the Losi vehicles did not and racers got disqualified because their front ends were too wide if they accidentally used the gas truck rims on the electric truck).

The truck is a little easier to drive. But if you learn to drive the buggy you can drive anything. You can also make the buggy wicked fast.

I would say trucks due to being able to go anywhere and you can slap on larger tires for all kinds of terrain. I suggest buggies if they will be running on more tame surfaces where the model will not get thrown around as much.

They are both great fun. Which one do you like to look at more?

i recommend the b4 because buggies look cool, all angular and with a big wing!

i say truck. they are more forgiving and jump better for beginers

Choose the Truck, Its easier to drive than the buggy. Get the buggy when your skills get better.

It all depends on what you like. The buggy will be faster handle better and be harder to drive. The truck is bigger and slower, but it has more ground clearance and durability. I say Buggies all the way

Get a truck, they're more durable and have better off-road capabilities.

I am VERY partial to nitro trucks but these new 4wd bugyys are awsome if i had to choose between an electric truck or buggy i would go with a buggy.

if they r new to the hobby look for an rtr and one that has a lot of replacement parts at ur local hobby shop cause u crash a lot. other than that it depends on what u want if u want speed and agility go for a buggy if u want speed and cool lookin jumps and some good cornering (if ur a good driver) its a truck. i have both

I personally would say "go with what your interested in. Me personally, I would go with a truck because they allow for a lot more doorbanging than buggies"

If they are just starting out I would suggest the truck. It is more stable and forgiving than a buggy. Get the truck and develop driving skills. Once the driving skills are there they can move into the buggy. Gary Bruce

trucks are for anyone. Buggies are for those with skill, touch and patience. Harder to drive, touchy set ups, very quick. You can't buy your way to a buggy win. You have to earn it!

Truks are slower and break more.

If it is an rc truck than I would go with that instead of the buggy. WHAT IS THE PRICE!!!

Submit

A truck is better because you don't have any little pieces and they are better to handle at top speeds.

I'd buy a buggy, because it's more fun, but a truck is good for beginners

I'd tell someone to bi an electric truck because they are better handling and they kin jump a lot higher

buy them both!

Trucks are easier to drive and need less setup to hook up and the track as oppose to a buggy. Buggies are much faster though.

(I know I already answered, but I'd like to change my answer!) I'd have to definately say truck, because most people who ask that kind of question are just getting into electric offroad, and trucks are an easy and fun way to get into the category; buggies are just too fast and they're drivers are generally more experienced. -TheMissile groups.yahoo.com/group/on_the_edge_racing P.S.: Congrats to Billy Easton for the AE win!

buggies are faster and quicker, but a truck handles better and jumps better

Trucks are more forgiving .... and easier to learn to drive for a beginner. Buggies are more responsive and a joy to drive when you learn to not overdrive the car.

Race what's popular at your track. If they're both popular, then race whichever makes more laps.

I think both are pretty cool but if u want a fast you should pick a buggy because it is lighter trucks are fast but not as fast.

If you want to have serious racing fun, get the Truck. But if you want to have serious racing fun and be in one of the most competitive hobbies around, get the buggy.

It depends on what they want to do with it. If they what to have fun in the backyard and race once in a while, then they should buy a truck. If they want to race and improve their driving skills, they should buy a buggy. In my opinion, if you can drive a modified buggy, you can drive anything, including on road cars.

Trucks are easy to handle, but buggies catch more air

Most Any Beginner should Buy a truck Because they are just easier to drive

i like the sleek style and look of a buggy and the way they take corners at speed, apart from that I've never drove a truck.

Do you like off-road or on-road, because the buggies(RC10B's) handle great on-road, and the RC10t's tear up the off-road terrain. I have a T2, and I wouldn't trade it for any other truck in the world.

I have two T3`s, one each (so far) T4 & B4, & one GT. All are fun, so it comes down to what is most pop. at you`r local track or park....

Where are you going to be running it.

GET THE BUGGY BECAUSE IT IS FASTER

go for the truck, its more friendly

well.. which do you like better? The truck has better handling then the buggy. The truck is a little bigger. The buggy can go faster cuz it has smaller back wheels less stress on the motor.

buggy jumps higher, truck is easier to handle

well.. depends if your starting out. if you are you should get a T4 or T3. a buggy is harder to control. A buggy would be good on a flat not bumpy track. the truck is used for bumpy and big jumps tracks, but i like the buggy the best!

buggies are more nimble if u want padock baser go truck

I would tell that person whether or not he/she would want a truck that can soak up bumps better and has a wider front or a lighter buggy that can carve through turns and go slightly faster

I ask them if they plan to race or just fool around. If they say race then I ask them which style is raced by more people at their track so they should consider that because they'll be able to get more set up info for better success.

trucks have more body options. go trucks!

I would say, "Go with the buggy cus its lighter and has better handling. Also, it can jump father gaps than a truck. And they look cool. Trucks are bulky and heavy, but are built to last; to be past down from generation to generation."

I would tell the person to buy a truck because trucks are wider which I think will make the vehicle more stable during cornering.

you can go just about anywhere with a truck including the street

I would say they're identical except for the body, and it would depend on what look they liked more.

Level of experience with either type, initial or overhaul expectations and use, finally what they may want to spend or put into it.

I would say by the buggy it handles better. On the other hand the truck is just as fun. Why don't you by both? I did.

The buggy's faster but the truck's more fun.

ill say the truck is more forgiving in corners and jumps than the buggy there for a new beginner its best to go with the truck not the buggy i have both a t3 and a b3 i like my t3 a lot better. thank you dennis finch

Hmm... depends what tracks are nearby. At my club (since it's an on-road track) a few buggies have been converted to on road, and performance-wise they are almost as good as the tourers. For off-road, 1/10 buggies are often much lighter than trucks, so they have better acceleration, but a 4wd truck is far better around the corners. As for jumps, they are about equal- trucks are not necessarily better as many people think, as I have pics of a 1/10 buggy jumping over the roof of a full-size car and landing intact...

I would say that buggies rule and if you don't want to fix stuff a lot go with a truck. if you want speed go with a buggy.

Truck are simply easier to drive. They are more stable. But buggies are more precise and a little faster.

I would have to say it's nothing more than a matter of taste for a beginner. But if I had to recommend one I would probably lean towards the truck, since I feel that it's a little more stable platform to learn on. But like I said I feel its a matter of preference... Josh/Va
