"What convinced you to go from R/C backyard bashing to track racing?"

Bashing is fun, but often done alone. It is always more entertaining to run with or against other cars\trucks.

Need a better reason for spending money on parts and hour of fixing my car, than "I ran into a tree".

Seemed more fun looking at the people in the magazines competing

WHEN I SAW A PERSON WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS HOW DRIVE, I SAW HIM AT A RACE CAUSE I WAS AT A PARK AND I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A LOT FUNNER IF U WERE COMPETITIVE, AND U WOULD LEARN MORE, CAUSE ITS BORING JUST GOING FAST, GOING STRAIGHT, AND FAST CAR DON'T MATTER, ITS ALL HANDLING AND SKILLS -ALAN

Hanging out with other people interested in my hobby and improving my driving skills. It's also a lot of fun learning from other racers, even some of the newcomers.

It convinced me by breaking the truck and wanting to make it go faster and using it on the track to see how fast it goes.

Probably my friend Justin convinced me after he saw how badly I wreak my t-maxx. I just got a RC10Gt Ft for My b-day P.s It was just one drive of a RC10Gt ft got me hooked on associated-t-maxx kevin

being able to go 60+mph with out getting pulled over from the local boys.

needed more excitement and challenge curly1188s

My competitive nature!

Drive the car on what it was designed to do, run races (on or off-road) and win! Especially if it is an AE car or truck.

speed of course..!!

We found that an offroad track was only 40 miles away and went to check it out. The guys racing looked nowhere near as good as we did in the park so we decided to give it a try. We signed up and made fools of ourselves...lol. It sure "looked" easy... like golf! We've been racing every weekend since that day (5+ years ago)! IT"S FUN!

The local indoor off-road track provides year-round fun. The people at the track are supportive of each other, competition is friendly and all ages are encouraged.

It looked like fun the first time I saw the guys racing, but I was scared of getting in the way. One day I showed up and there was a race on, so I decided to give it a go. When I finally tried it, the rush I had was so intense I was hooked!

what convinced me is that i for one am competitive not to say backyard bashing isn't fun because its a blast and track racing is a lot easier on your stuff you don't have the urge to jump off large object but that is why I for one switched to track racing

racing is more fun and skill oriented and it gives me more of a challenge. plus I got tired of cutting the grass...

Got bored of people complainin'

because i like the feel of competition and i like driving fast

A COMPANY CALLED PROTECH MOTORS!

Having a track to race on.

It's from being competitive as a whole. It started out as fun, but at the same time wanting to be better (faster) than the next guy.

To see where you measure up with fellow RC enthusiasts.

beating my friends got old

The rush of you get from competition.

Bashing was getting boring; was looking to improve my skills.

the challenge of the competitors made me go to track racing

I didn't have a backyard

backyard bashing is fun but people think there an awesome driver just from bashing I learned that driving on a track is way more different and way more fun you can't always hit the jumps at full throttle at least with gas trucks and its fun to see how good you can handle your truck in a race

what convinced me was the thrill of knowing your not the only guy who's got the fast or nice car theirs a lot more competition that's been waiting for me and you.

For the adreneline rushes 'associated' with track racing.

When I realized my T4 kicked ass

I used backyard bashing to get better skills, to get ready to race.

The reason why I changed from my back yard roots is because I like to push my cars to the limit and I like competition. Don't get me wrong, I still bash my cars, I just have some cars that only run on a well groomed track. I like to race at the track and bash RC-- is all about having fun.

Driving the TC3 indoors (where it's warm) on both the touring and oval tracks, keeps my competitive edge during the Winter months (here in Michigan), when the water is too hard to race R/C Yachts.

the excitement of competition!!

Competition

After two years of "back yarding it up" I realized you will never be able to see the full glory of a r/c racer unless you can run it to it's fullest and the best way to push you and your r/c to it's fullest potential is through competitive racing, And track racing is the perfect competition because in order to truly compete you have to know your r/c in and out, how to properly "hop it up" to fit your racing needs and most important how to race with speed and control. Once you have mastery of the these elements and apply them back to "back yarding it up" you would see that you are able to come up with and pull off more video-worthy stunts, jumps, and tricks. I just got tired of racing myself. plus talent this good should be seen by others!

Bashing just got boring, plus there finally was a track in my area. I live in Toronto and there's only 1 track for a population of 5 million. Crazy huh?

I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST PLAIN COOL. DON'T KNOW WHERE THE COMPETITIVE NATURE CAME FROM JUST CAME OUT. ALSO BACK YARD WAS GETTING BORING

the video that came with my rc10 GT RTR was inspirational to me racing my r/c car. since then i have raced my GT and have bought and raced a rc10 tc3. thanks for the great cars!

I love competition, plus its cleaner as in no leaves, sand, or twigs. And its a great hobby/sport.

My skill = prize money!

I got bored just running around the backyard, so I got another truck and let a friend drive it so I had some one to race. Then I found a track, 15 years later I am still racing.

the competition

We were shopping for parts at out LHS and saw a flyer for an offroad track that was 35 miles away. We wanted to just see what happens at a race. Once at the track all the racers were so enthusiastic and helpful we started going once a week to race. We started with a T3 RTR, and had a blast. Racing adds a whole new dimension to running the buggies and trucks that you can't get in parking lots and backyards.

A bunch of friends of mine went to a race in New Hampshire. When they came back all they could talk about was how much fun they had racing there. We then set up a track at a parking lot and I was hooked. I'm still an average driver but I am getting better every year. I race with a NTC3. I have been racing for 3yrs now and still enjoy it even when I brake. I race at R/C Madness ENFIELD, CT. I learn from watching local pro MIKE DUMAS. I wish he was racing for you guys. Thanks DEVON ASSOCIATED RULES

Wanting To Win Trophies

The thrill of VICTORY and the agony of de flame-out!!!!

I haved Enjoyed backyard bashing so much over the years with my rc10t2 that when i got my GT i had to build "Round Back RC Track"! www.roundbackrctrack.com

It always seems to me that it's more fun with competition.

There's nothing like taking the inside line on a track. While it's fun to slide around an empty dirt lot, it's a lot more fun to fly over jumps and slide around corners on a track with a bunch of other people.

The thought of winning all those races or top qualifying in them. the adrenaline pumping though your veins as you turn the last corner and onto the straight away on the last lap of the race

i went from racing my friend to racing on the track because, firs,t it's indoors so you could go all year round, and there is more competition at the track than just my friend

Dirt Track racing can't be beat! And my car takes less abuse on a track. We NEED more dirt tracks!!!!

got tired of having no one to race with

The precision of racing verses the care free playing around. I like a challenge and racing is much more involved.

The tracks are more fun! With jumps, straight aways, turns. It's just more challenging and a lot more fun!

The fact that a track was built in my very small town, and that I could meet other hobbyists. Corey Lillard

Well i think at one point every boy "wants" to be a race car driver or have something to do in racing, and you are guaranteed to have a driving buddy , something you don't always have at the house. its fun to go rip it up on the track with your friends at the track

Knowing I could beat people who are just like me.

Fun

I played Gran Turismo before for years before RC and this is the closest thing to that in real life where you won't go broke if you crash. Gus G. Las Vegas, NV
