"What type of track surface do you prefer to race on (loose dirt, clay, etc.), and why?"

i like to race on carpet because its smooth and you get traction and your car doesnt get scratched that much

For off-road, anything that isn't concrete-like. If I wanted to race on asphalt, I'd race on-road!

Clay tracks hold their shape and consistency, and they keep the truck clean! But for having a fun time out on a racetrack, loose dirt is the way to go. Going sideways, shooting rooster tails and sandblasting the guy behind you; even if your machine is a mess after a run you still have fun! -TheMissile

loose and wet, classic off-road. none of this hard stuff, its like on road with jumps

I like loose dirt so you can see a rooster tail at take off, and also for power slides!

blue groove, i like it because of lots-o-traction and clean car at the end of z day

Loose Dirt All the way!!! Just because if your gonna do offroad you wanna get dirty!!! And have to struggle for traction and not take traction for granted!

changing surface, like mud, grass, clay, sand, etc. all on the same track

i prefer loose dirt because u get more grip with tires and its fun to race in dirt

Loose slightly wet dirt like revelation. IT give tons of TRACTION

clay, best hook-up, easiest to set up for.

Hard Packed: Hard packed will make the racing closer since you don't have to have a "sluggish" handling vehicle to be consistent. You can pass people while holding your line. Also, the track will change less throughout the day.

Hard packed clay is my preference for racing because of the awesome traction and the power you can lay down. Also there is nothing like (almost nothing!) being at a big club race or trophy race and watching that BLUE GROOVE come up and watching guys tearing up track records.

clay its a lot cleaner and the car handles better for me

I assume we're talking off-road? I like a track that is relatively consistent but still loose enough to be challenging. It's not off-road to me if you're running slicks. In other words, I like the old-style tracks not the blue-groove tracks that seem so popular in So Cal. Jerry (Toronto)

ice! cause you can slide!!!

I prefer to race on clay because it is grippy and high-bite. i get a lot of speed and the cornering is awesome.

Clay cause its sticky

a loamy surface if what i prefer. loose dirt on a offroad track seems to be the most realistic style of racing. kinda the baja 1000; on the track

yeah mine is loose dirt

i like dirt, but well packed. i can't get my rc10 to hook up on loose dirt

clay- consistent traction

blue groove. its hard, u get awesome traction, and u don't have to clean a lot. downside is that u rip through tires easier.

loose,,,because when your truck is hookin` up you can throw a good roost.

Clay because the trucks stick better on it

I like to run my MGT on loose dirt. I love the wheels dig up the dirt and throw away the stones and dirt.

I PREFER CLAY BECAUSE OF THE STICKY SURFACE. IT GIVES YOU SO MUCH MORE BITE AND HIGHER SPEEDS THOUGH THE CORNERS!

If any of you have raced on polished wood or ice, you will know it is awesome to watch the top cars all drifting side by side around the corners. It looks like they are about to hit each other all the time, but instead they slide in unison. For those of you who have tried polished wood and struggled - try Schumacher Minipins, Yellow compound with the outside row of pins trimmed off the tire with a clippers. As for ice racing, make sure all your electrics are waterproofed......lol Will

pavement-- it's more open

I run my MGT on grass, dirt, railroad dirt, pavement, sidewalks, water, mud, railroad ties,etc.. No tracks for 100 miles. I just Bash.

Smooth asphalt because of the high speeds that can be achieved with a nitro powered vehicle. To me nothing is better that a nice piece of smooth asphalt to go super fast on.

Clay Track - Because of the consistency of clay, you can have a cleaner race...and more traction.

I prefer a top soil clay dirt mixture because it seems to be a little easier on my motor and tires and and you can make the track better
