Much easier to work on and operate [than nitro], plus you can run year-round assuming there's an indoor track in the area. Only downsides would be waiting for batteries to charge and the short run times.
Electric R/C vehicles don't usually go as fast as nitro R/Cs. for beginners that is like an advantage, but for experts it doesn't have as much rush in it as nitro. You also have to wait longer to drive/fly an electric, unlike nitro, because the battery has to charge. Electric R/C vehicles are fairly cheap to buy and are somewhat easy to maintain. these vehicles come in all scales 1/64, 1/32, 1/28, 1/18, 1/12, and 1/10. No matter what kind or size you choose I'll bet anyone would have a great time driving them.
well the advantages are that u can always recharge your batteries and wont have to worry about glow plugs, fuel and all that stuff. The bad thing is u can't get your car wet in anyway. And there is less speed, but they are still pretty fast. If you spend a considerable amount of money on it you can maybe get a electric up to 50 or even 60 mph :)
An electric vehicle uses the DC unit!! I cant use no unit on my TENSOR!! My friend Chris has a TC4 with a Skryter body on it. He didn't like waiting for the DC unit to give it to him. He put a gas engine on it, i think a Brison 3.8.
you can run the cars inside in the winter would be the top advantage here in the north. As far as a disadvantage; i do not see any.
The advantages of that electric vehicle is the ability to whoop on there maxxs any time and dat revo illl throw down smokin the streets skillz with my TEAM AE tc3000 electric muscle, theres no ride out there faster than its 19 turn brusless cox power I uses 20% nitro in my electric motor just to make it go fasta on da street, the only disadvantage is your phat nitro ride can't stop losing to my WHIP NUMBER ONE!! electric spliff. And when i call the hobbytown and ask for parts they dont know what truck i got cause i dont know who makes it i bought it from them the betta know. PEACE OUT !!
The advantage of an electric is the fact that you can run them indoors all year around. I live in the Kansas City Missouri area and we could sure use a indoor offroad track. There is a lot of people here with nothing to do in the winter. There are plenty of big vacant buildings for rent and for sale in this area. I sure hope someone will open a track soon!!
Advantages: Clean, Quiet, Low startup cost, Mini class. Disadvantages: Short run times, Battery re-charge times,
Pros: 1. the speed and agility 2. no annoying nitro tuning 3. less money 4. easy maintenance Cons: 1. battery runs out 2. not as fast and strong as most nitros 3. seem to have less durable parts 4. can't race in most dirt races
Electrics aren't as fun as nitros are in the rain, cause they burn up. I think electrics make better racing cars, nitros are good for, "my rc car is way faster than your rc car." Batteries and chargers cost a lot more than a gallon of nitro.
Less maintenance on electric
advantage: no gas, its cheaper to run, cheaper to bye, and a lot easier to run. dis: it isn't as fun!
Advantages : They are quieter, smoother, more reliable and less expensive to buy, and maintain. Also don't need to buy nitro fuel. Disadvantages : They can not go as fast as nitro (stock), and do not have as much torque as a nitro R/C car or truck. Batteries also tend to die out fairly fast. -David
Pros - ease of use, awesome acceleration, absence of noise means you can use it anywhere, razor-sharp handling, maintenance, weight.
Cons - constantly cutting coms on low turn motors (brushless solves this), crazy prices on high-end equipment (motors, batteries and ESCs).
Advantages: Clean, easier to work on, won't get complaints from your neighbors. Disadvantages: Low run times, no smoke and no exhaust sounds.
SOME ADVANTAGES: THEY CLEAN UP EASY. NO FUEL ALL OVER THE BODY, SHOCK PARTS AND A-ARMS. ALSO THEY TEND TO BE A TOUCH MORE QUIET THAN GAS
They Are Cooler.
Advantages: Cleaner than nitro, quiet, just plug in batteries and go. Extremely reliable and less of a hassle to run. Run anywhere at any time. Weight is constant and better distributed. Looks better due to the fact that don't need to cut a lot of extra holes in the body to support an engine. No messing with glow plugs, clutches, fuel feed problems, cylinder head temperature, etc. Disadvantages: Short run times, which get even shorter with a hot motor. Frequent rebuild of DC motors... and a brushless motor setup is still very expensive. Need for understanding battery issues; i.e. how to charge/discharge properly. In the case of LiPo batteries, they can be dangerous if mishandled. No "Ooooh" factor that Nitro has.
Advantages: less mess on body from exhaust (learned from experience). You can race an electric anywhere, inside, outside, it doesn't matter. on a rainy day you may race them in the house (if you have enough room). Now let's talk about the disadvantages, basically from comparing some electrics and nitros some don't even match up to the power and excitement of the speed that these things pull out.
Advantages, Quiet, not as hard on Tires, clean, simple, fun/ less expensive. Disadvantages, down time, lower speed while battery is dying, not as much torque. no pull starting
Cleaner and easier to work on than nitro, no exhaust sound and no smoke.
