RC cars have no worse affect to my family life than my friends fishing trips. The cost is about the same, time away is less and the kids are happy to join in as my pit crew when I bring them along to a race. The kids have their own cars now and are learning set up and driving. Any thing that a family can do together and still have fun is OK.
RC gives me and my brother something to do together. We are 7 years apart so something I like to do he doesnt, and vice versa. But with RC, we both have something to talk about (and argue about, playfully) and do together.
Sean from Ontario, California I've been into RC racing at local tracks since about 1986. My wife knows it's expensive, and wish it's was just a little cheaper. All in all a great hobby to take your mind off of work.
My RC hobby affects my family deeply. One day my bother popped up and threw some of his "break-in-sand" all up in my TMAX. I proceeded to run it skriat up on his face, directly. All dem kids down the row calls him skid mark now cause they saw my do them burn outs on his face. That is how my RC hobby affects my family, aight!!
My whole family really enjoys my RC hobby. I let my brother drive my MGT down the street full on speed, into the crowd and we all laugh. Some times I get tensor when my sister takes up my DC unit. I can't see.
The rc hobby affects my interest in the life of millions, The tensors related to my life are created with love for the unit that is dc. My dad loves my hobby with robust interest in my super nikok dump truck ultralite will bring a family together faster than a nitro rustler 2.5 type r turbo. But the team AE trucks affect me the most providing a ridiculous time of rc fantasy that I enjoy more and more through the life of my motor. OUT YALL
well they do complain but they are still supportive. they also say it sots to much
it makes my girl friend mad cuz i spend more money on my truck then her. but its brought me and my dad closer.
My grandson's parents are divorced. He (13yoa) lives with his mother near us. His father isn't much of a male figure is his life. R/C allows me to work with him and teach him to work on cars, etc. The rc world is very good for him in that he has learn to meet and interact with others. He is able to enjoy the competition and the comradery of peers. He has learned to help competition as they have helped him.
The RC Hobby affects our family alot. I bought my husband a truck for his birthday 2 1/2 years ago (he had never driven a remote control before). My six year old son wanted to try it. He tried driving and was pretty good at it. We started taking him to the local indoor dirt track a couple times a week. Two and a half years later we race at least once a week all year long. We travel all over the state of Michigan and have traveled to Ohio and Illinois for races too. We have met so many nice people, willing to help 'newbies'. We always race as a family (dad, son, and mom). We are even traveling all the way to Arizona for the Stock Nationals this October. Racing has taught my son how to be a good sport and that the more you practice something the better you get. It is expensive, but has had a positive influence on the entire family. We truly enjoy RC racing and hope to have many more years traveling and spending time with our son!
Spending money on RC Hobbies means I won't be spending it on crack. Which is good, because crack is very bad for families.
RC Hobbies have strengthened my marriage. It gets me out of the house so that we have less time to annoy each other.
My family has their pros and cons about them. My dad thinks they are cool. My mom is has her likes and her dislikes. My sister calls them a money pit. I and I enjoy working on them then running at the track at family hobbies. Oh and I have an RC18T and a RC10T3.
I think RC Car racing is a positive influence and has a positive effect. I have 2 boys 16 & 10, they race with me and have started to maintain their own cars. As for my wife, she likes that we (me and the kids) are out of her hair for 6-8 hours every Sunday. Overall, its a positive, the only downside? The initial cost to "start up" the hobby is very Expensive, and also to keep up with the new technologies. I "love" RC I've been into it for 30 years!! Kindest Regards, Captain Nitro I live to Race and Race to Win!
