What are the advantages and disadvantages of a nitro R/C vehicle?

advantages of nitro is the speed and the rush you get from the sound of the motor revving up and throwing your car to speeds of insane excitement.... disadvantages in my opinion is the fact you cannot just get up at 2 am and run... a few more is the fact you need to tune your motor to the weather for the day.. plus fuel is a big disadvantage

this is to the advantages question. Some of the advantages of the nitro is the visual effect and the sounds. You can't really hear an electric and its not all that exciting. And you see smoke and you know you have a really good RC car that could have people wowing and chompin' at the bit to see you open it up. The disadvantages could be the same. The noise some people don't want to hear it. The smoke will burn your eyes and throat Then people do always stand around which makes it harder to do anything. Also if you live in a small neighborhood it's really hard because their will be a neighbor that will hate it then try to run it over or just call the cops!

Advantages : Nitro cars/trucks are fast and powerful. Disadvantages: Expensive to maintain, parts cost a lot (i.e. fuel, cleaning solvents, etc); they are very sensitive to humidity and outside air temperature.

well to start off nitro cars are harder to take care care of than an electric vehicle. Second of all you have to know at least how to start the the engine which might be pretty tricky for a beginner. last of what i think, i believe you should know how to drive. most nitro cars hit at least 60 these days, for instance I have a brand new nitro tc3 and i hooked it up so good it hits about 90 every time i drive it so it's pretty hard to drive it i know that I'm wearing out the engine but i put after run oil in it, that is another thing that you also have to know about nitro cars how to run it. you also have to know what's going wrong with your car may it be a slipped clutch or what ever you should know how to fix it.

Longer run time, more realistic racing and longer races, disadvantages are burnt fingers and frustration. I race nitro and electric and love both equally

Advantages: faster, louder, longer run times. Disadvantages: Gas smells toxic and you can't drink it and it can blow up.

Advantage: Longer runtime than electric. Longer Mains if you are racing. Disadvantage: If you aren't familiar with tuning an engine it will be frustrating.

advantages of a nitro vehicle are the speed, noise (crisp sound of the engine as you hear it revving) and altogether FUN!- the only "disadvantages" of nitro cars (can you call this a disadvantage) is they tend to be a bit messy (the oily mess on the chassis and generally all over the car!) but i find cleaning (and maintaining) my car(s) almost as much fun as running them. and remember- with a nitro car, they can be refueled and run for hours whereas electric cars would require 4/5 battery packs, but these would have to be charged each :-(. BUT (electric touring) car racing doesn't compare to any other class of racing for pure excitement, well the choice is up to you, but wait a minute why not buy both a nitro and electric car? ANIMAL ps. ASSOCIATED RULE!!!!!

Nitro cars are often unreliable and nitro fuel is expensive. When you are driving you get alot more speed than an electric.

Hello webmaster- A friend and I are the ones who write about DC units and Tensors. We work at a hobby shop and use your website as a reference for Sales and customers on a daily basis. It is very helpful. We have a couple of crazy customers who have used these terms and we just thought they were very funny. I hope you take our posts as just jokes and not too much of nuisance. We enjoy the questions forum and also read the posts daily. Just so you know, a Tensor is an E-Flight electric airplane (with a funny name) and the DC unit we refer to is a charger that one of our customers insists on calling "the DC unit". Hope you thought some of this was funny and we didn't cause too many problems. TENSOR!!!
