1998 Question of the Week

"What’s the name of the local Associated racer who has helped you out the most, sponsored or non-sponsored? (Please put your own name here also.)"

Jason Fritton

K.C. Mo. Harold Emmanuel is the top racer at my local track. When I got my first Associated car - he taught me how to tune my car and all sorts of stuff. My name is Ryan Beaver.

Paul Snyder

My Self, Since I am the only one at my track with a B3, the only other time was in Canada and that was Paul Synder ( ex ae ) but usually I am by my self.

Ken Dippold

Walter Henderson races with sometimes races with our club. He has helped me out quite a bit with my setup. He is sponsored by Associated. I also get alot of help from non-Associated drivers. I help out some of my competitors as well . Kelly Kroupa

The person that has helped me out the most with my car and racing would be Ken Vidra. My name is Bart Pickett.

I would have to say Masami Hirosaka. He is cool. He doesnt win a lot but he is still cool

Here in the San Diego area, there is a racer named Dave Smith who is well known as an Associated loyalist. This guy has been racing off-road for at least 10 years, and will always take the time to help out any racer, regardless of brand. He is very professional and well turned out, and always has a large bag of used parts (associated!) that he will let the younger racers look through if the hobby shop does not have what they need. He is also very competitive on the track and races both the B3 and T3. Thanks for asking this question, this guy is definitely a good advertisement for associated and its products. By the way, he does most of his racing at Discount Hobby Warehouse in San Diego. My name is B. T. Johnson.

Guy De Weerd has helped out the most drivers at our club. (sponsored driver) Werner Van Loock

In the san diego area it would have to be Dave Smith

I race in the San Diego/Orange County area and I have had a lot of help from a racer named Dave Smith. He is always willing to answer questions concerning associated cars. He is also FAST on the track!! my name is William Reinhart. thank you.

1. i am sure someone has already mentioned dave smith in the s.d. area. If this guy is not factory sponsored, he should be!!!!! 2. a good question would be: how many racers are switching from off-road to touring car racing? name is bill jones.

Not to put down Associated, I think their great, but the guy who helped me out the most drives an HPI.

BIG HYME Austin

The non sponsored driver that really helped me with my RC10T3 at Long Island Raceway and Hobby is Scott Schirmer.

Todd Oswalt is the best and nicest racer in my opinon, at Sugarbowl Spdwy in Atlanta, GA. He helps with motor setups, chassis setups, tire choices, battery placement, bodies, etc... HE IS SUPER NICE AND SUPER FAST THANKS.

Scottie Maupin has helped me tremendously. He always gives me tips about my truck and the track, and plus he wins all the time. But one thing, I just can't seem to understand why you want to know.

[Associated responds: We are just taking this week-and-a-half to salute the unsung heroes of the R/C world! We also want to see if racers with partial sponsorships are noted for helping other Associated racers.]

I am just letting you know that the gentleman that has been mentioned from the San Diego area ( smith) helped my son and I out tremendously. He is one of the best advertisements out there for your products. thank you, J.R.Miton.

It would have to be Kevin Ganoe, of Maryland. He's helped me more time then I can count. He also is a very consistent driver. Always in the show.

Greg H.

THE ARTIST

I would have to say here in Bakersfield Ca. the biggest help is Lou Maldonado. If he's not running at least 3 classes at Showtime Raceway he's helping at least 2-3 rookies he's fielding questions from everyone at the track as well as washing the track at 6 a.m. for the days racing. submitted by Jason Hastings Associated kicks butt and the L2 and L3 rock

Paul Snyder was very helpful in our area and at many big races I saw him at. And his help on the net was awesome. He might not run for AE anymore, but always helping AE drivers if they have questions at our local track, to me this is what a true representative is, sponsored or not.

I don't even know the guy's name, but he helped me put my car in second place in my first race. He gave me tips on setup, and even charged my batteries on his peak charger. He races at Hobby Town USA in Casleton Indiana. Thank you.

I personally have watched the dude from san diego hand out the equivalent of at least 5 associated cars ( in used parts) to younger racers over the years when they did not have the money for new parts! You do not have to post this, just wanted you to know that those comments about him were very accurate. R.G.H., Laguna,CA.

brent wallace

Bob Heart had helped me enough to turn my backyard rc10gt into a 2nd place race truck!!!

Chris Jones thanks for all the info on setting up our T3's, Joe, Brian, and Dusty.

Mike Maxwell is a non-sponsored racer in Ames, IA. He always takes time to help a racer out with any kind of troubles, no matter what brand of merchandise. He is a big Associated freak though, just like me. 8^)~

Jeff "Raisin" Cain

MARSHALL VICNAIR OF MIDLAND, TX...HE'S THE LOCAL B3 MOD MAN TO BEAT AT OUR BIG SPRINGS TRACK. HE PROVIDED HAL AND OTHERS WITH "THE" SET-UP INFO AND ALWAYS AVAILABLE TO HELP US OUT...

My friend Mike rope's has helped me a lot. He owns a B3 and I'm about to purchase a T3 He got me into RC.

Jeff Diem

My name is Mike See the driver who has helped me out the most is Bryce Beaver, who is a local sponsored driver where i race. Any time i have a setup problem or question he is always right there to help. he is one of the reasons that i have been doing better with racing and made me decide to try and become sponsored myself. he even gave me some tips on trying to get sponsored. what a guy.

I would have to say although he's not local to me, he does help via Trinity's Tech Talk board, is Paul Snyder. and now, even though he races for Losi, he still helps all us there with our Associated products.

Matt Ledger, Randy Conroff, and Mellow at HTR.

Morrison

my name is Joey Emont...The racer for associated that has helped me out the most is Mr. Dave Smith

Don Dike

Paul Wynn has given me the most help with my car. He is sponsored by AE, but it's my Schumacher 4wd that he offers the help on. He is an all around good guy and you should be proud having him represent your company. Besides all that, he's very fast on top of it all.

Courtney Morse from Warren, Pa. as he and his wife Lissa both run 10T's on a limited budget and are among the top racers at our track. They show newcomers that it is unnecessary to purchase new motors and batteries on a monthly basis.

Jonny B. at MnM hobbies pat hall

Bryce Beaver and Brad Nibblelink been helping me with tips to make my car run faster.

Alex Siemantel HAWKS R/C Sacramento, California

Jared Scott and Chuck Berg

I would just like to say thank you to the san diego area folks who made the nice comments regarding Dave Smith. I would just like to say thank you. It is nice to know the help is appreciated! I will continue to try to put Associated products in their best light. Dave Smith.

All Associated products are the best. I have been running AE since the aluminum tub days. I would just like to say that two guys at my track are absolutely the best ever. They take time out of their race day to help me tune my car and get it to the best. These two drivers race at TRCR in WA. They are Brian Heiges and Mark Harrison. I dont know if they are sponsored, but they are both great racers and help me out allot. Heiges had to prepare for his next heat, but he took the time out to set up my shocks and explain why he ran it that way. So if you don't have them on your team, I feel you should check them out. Just my 2 cents, keep up the great work and i'll be a life time customer.
