1999 Question of the Week:>
Are you a racer or backyard basher?
You can't be a racer unless you are also a basher. I race my T3, I bash my GT. ~Eric
Here is a suggestion for a future Question Of the Week: Attention A-main racers: Can you put into words what changed you from an average racer into an A-Main qualifier? [Good question.]
Who makes the best gas .12 gas engine, and why? [Good question, too.]
both
I'm a racer of 4 years, love trucks they just look neat to me!!!!!
Racer, definitely! You can win gift certificates from the hobby track owner to his
shop--that way you can buy parts without paying a dime. But if you were Backyard Bashing
you would break parts left and right and have to burn holes in your wallet.

I am a backyard basher mainly because there isn't a track around me.
I am mostly a backyard basher and once a month a racer. I love to just sit outside and run my cars until the sun sets and also to drive my cars in as many places as I can. I take them everywhere and run them in everything. Matt
I am among a rare breed. I race and bash. My MRC MT10S was my first truck and I don't race it anymore. My RC10T3 is an A-main racer and I will still slap some sand paddles on it
WELL a little of both i would say. race for fun for a challenge but it is fun taking a monster truck with a motor that is way overpowered and jumping till it breaks
I'm a little of both I have a track in my backyard and I race almost every weekend. I love the excitement of racing with my friends. krkroupa
I am most definitely a racer! I would rather break the car racing than in the backyard.
I am a racer I have competed in 3 big events In Oklahoma City including NORCCA nationals
twice.. I live in Little Rock Arkansas. Where a good track is trying to live only one
track..
KOMO..short for Kamakaisi..
work at the local hobby shop
I'm a Back yard basher, roof jumper, light post slamin', curb jumpin' driver. I run my GT so hard that the whole chassis has multiple directional kick up. I got my GT the first day it came out, and have not changed a thing on. It's still stock; except for bearings and spur gears. I've also gone through more than 20 spur gears and still counting. Racer. Every backyard-basher has higher ambitions, and those ambitions are to compete against others at the sport.
I used to run my car out in the road. That lasted for a while. One Saturday I went racing at my local track and won. I was hooked after that and now race every weekend, both gas and electric sedans
o would say half and half
we are definitely RACERS! by the way, associated, we RACE in san diego and when we have any b3 or t3 questions, we go straight to you know who, he is THE master of A.E. products. (his last name is smith). we really rely on him for help of all kinds. thanks, J.G.
Im both a weekend racer and weekday back alley thrasher. Old people don't take kindly to my
RC10GT loud MIP musical exhaust notes! But when I become their age I will be still running
my RC10GT from my hospital bedside tearing up them nurses nice white shoes!!!!
P.S. Hurry up with the GT graphite front and rear arms I need to look cool next to those
L--I NXT graphite trucks!
I would say that i am both because I haven't yet gone to any real races but I have a competition buggy.
Im a little of both. Racing is always alot of fun but there's nothing like driving through your neighborhood with some friends. Especially if you drive a T3 or B3.
I would say Both. I love the sport backyard bashing or race weekend with the guys. Over here in Middle TN we have a great sedan parking lot series and an indoor offroad series. Some of us even have tracks in our backyards. Out of Thirty or so racers I am the only one that is waiting to get my sedan for the upcoming 99 season. The reason is because I am waiting for the much anticipated rc10tc3. My buddies I race with are skeptical to say the least but I don't care. I'm going to buy a tc3 no matter what. Anyway, our season starts about mid march so I hope to have a TC3 by then. Thanks to all the Team Associated guys (and girls) for a great product. Aaron in TN
racer because I think its the funest thing in the world.
I used to be a backyard basher, but now my cars and trucks only hit the backyard when i need to test something that i just fixed at home and can't wait till i get to the track. these fixes are usually speed control, servo, or radio related problems.
Backyard basher wanna-be racer!!! Tons of HUGE jumps in my backyard so it isn't true backyard basher...
I am a racer first and foremost. I do like to do some back yard bashing. i have been racing on and off for almost 18 years. I finally got sponsored by hitec radios. I enjoy racing. The trill of jumping my t3 is great. It flies great. You build a great truck and buggy. Thanks for everything. [Fly the friendly skies. Fly Associated.]
A racer but also mess with my B3 in the back yard.
by far a racer!!!
i am definitely a racer, cant wait to go racing kind of racer. I think about this stuff
all the time. It a great thing this r/c hobby.
Oh yeah! i recently won my first BIG race. I took first in 2wd mod at the CA state champs. [Congratulations!]
I need someone around JACKSON COUNTY, GEORGIA to bash my T3 or my GT with, please post this. I am bored bashing my dog. [Is your dog bored?]
I am a backyard basher because I thrash it with my modified nitro truck!!! Digging up the grass!!!
I think I am a backyard-basher because I spend about 75% of my time in the backyard practicing and the other 25% racing at the track.
I like to bash around the backyard most of the time. I go and tune my rc10gt to get it to go as fast as possible, then I let it fly around the neighborhood and frighten small children. It works great. On the weekend I race against other crazies at our own track. I guess that I am an inbred and a crazy all rolled into one.
I am a backyard basher, i love to have un-organized fun with my friends. The plus side to this is you can make your own jumps...as big as you want...and believe me, you will never see any of the jumps i play on at the nationals! Nick from Vancouver, Wa (and my kamikazi T3!)
