Cooling Tips for the Gas Trucks

Some tips on how to help your nitro engine run cooler.

1. Trim the body around the engine head and the carburetor area. This area needs to be cut large enough to allow easy access for the glow plug igniter, and to adjust the needle valve. It also has to clear the cylinder head.

2. We also recommend cutting out the side windows.

3. If you run at Sanctioned race tracks, you're allowed to cut out half of the windshield for engine cooling. Make sure you cut the driver's side half of the windshield, directly in front of the engine.

4. If you do not run in Sanctioned races, then you can get even more cooling air to the engine by cutting out the whole windshield.

Be sure to round off all corners in the windows where you cut them out. This will help to keep the body from cracking.
