Questions

Can I add the slipper clutch to my kit?

There are silver, black, and green springs. Which are the firmest and softest?

What's the best gearing for my electric DS, 11 turn motor?

The front shock springs are so close to the ball end (threaded end) they rubbed.

Where can I get more hop ups for my DS?

Do the 190mm bodies fit the RC10DS?

Will putting more weight on the front end improve the steering?

My tires both front and rear swell up, which makes it difficult to go full throttle during the race.

I can't find the "All Sport" decals used for the Tom Kendall Mustang.

My DS under acceleration is just fine, but as soon as you let off the throttle smoothly or not the car pulls to the left or right. It flips every time I roll out of the throttle.

I hope you have some good ideas for setting up for So Cal Raceway in Huntington Beach.

I have an electric DS and I would like to convert it to a Nitro DS.

Will the Associated foam bumper #8503 fit RC10DS cars?

Answers

1 Can I add the slipper clutch to my kit?

Yes, you can. Part numbers are:
6583 Torque Hub Inner
6584 Torque Hub Outer
6585 Clutch Disc
6596 Bushing
6594 Thrust Bearing
6587 Spring & Nut.

2 There are silver, black, and green springs. Which are the firmest and softest?

Green is the firmest, black is the softest. Silver is no longer made, otherwise it would be the firmest.

3 What's the best gearing for my electric DS, 11 turn motor?

The best spur and pinion gear combo would be a 20 pinion with a 78 spur. This will make your car run a little faster than the gearing in the manual.

4 The front shock springs are so close to the ball end (threaded end) they rubbed.

You are right, the fit is very close. Adding two shims will fix it.

5 Where can I get more hop ups for my DS?

GPM made alloy parts for the DS. You might be able to find them on the Internet.

6 Do the 190mm bodies fit the RC10DS?

In the stock format with the rubber tires the car is 8 ¼" wide (about 210mm). If you are using the optional foam tires then the car is 8.0" wide (about 203mm).

7 Will putting more weight on the front end improve the steering?

Off power (coasting) steering will improve.

8 My tires both front and rear swell up, which makes it difficult to go full throttle during the race.

Turn the tire inside out, then spray a 3M adhesive spray on the inside of the tire. Next, use a strip of nylon tape around the inside of the tire. This will keep the tire from expanding during acceleration.

9 I can't find the "All Sport" decals used for the Tom Kendall Mustang.

They were custom made for the kit box. We don't provide them.

10 My DS under acceleration is just fine, but as soon as you let off the throttle smoothly or not the car pulls to the left or right. It flips every time I roll out of the throttle.

If your car is pulling to the right or to the left every time, it sounds like your steering linkage is binding or you have a servo that won't center. Make sure that your front wheel bearings are working properly as well.

11 I hope you have some good ideas for setting up for So Cal Raceway in Huntington Beach.

Here is a setup that was used at the Killers Classic.
1) 25 degree caster blocks
2) Silver springs (front and rear)
3) 1/16" shock travel limiters (inside) on all four shocks
4) Front sway back adjusted all the way back (stiff setting)
5) 40 weight silicone shock oil
6) 3 degrees negative camber at all four corners
7) Foam tires all the way around
8) 1 degree front toe-in on each side
9) Rear anti-roll bar all the way soft or disconnected
10) 1/16" spring clip in front and no clips in the rear.
11) Traction Sauce on rear tires only
This should give you a starting point to work from.

12 I have an electric DS and I would like to convert it to a Nitro DS.

Sorry, there is no conversion kit.

13 Will the Associated foam bumper #8503 fit RC10DS cars?

Yes. You can make it fit by adding new holes in it.
