Questions

t3/t4. Is the top shaft the same on the t4 as the t3? I see all the light weight parts like the outdrives and slipper plate and top shaft, is this a worth while investment? Do the your racers do it? I race stock only and it seems everyone, including me, is looking for "the edge".

Factory Team T3. I've heard the dual pad slipper clutch on the T4/B4 is far superior to the T3/B3. Can a person mount the new slipper clutch in the T3?

There are 2 pins on the front suspension that have E-clips on both ends of each pin holding them in place. They keep popping off after running.

I'm not sure which truck I have.

I want the same shocks that are on your T3 RTR for my own T3.

I have a T3 and I keep stripping servos.

I just bought some TEAM FACTORY GREEN SLIME SHOCK LUBE. How do I use it?

I saw that there is a blue anodized front nose plate for the rc10gt. It's #7305B. Will it fit the rc10t?

Can your Team RC10T3 hold a 6 cell stick battery in the chassis?

For some reason the rubber tires slip off of the rims.

Is there a way to replace the slipper clutch tranny with a direct drive trans?

I want to know why I have to put a 1/8" hole in the wheels of my T3.

Buggy and Truck Spring Rates

I can't find any graphite parts for my T2.

I am wanting to upgrade my RC10T3 rear axles to CVD's. What do I need to do this?

I am installing my stock motor into the T3 using the stock pinion 24t with
the 87t drive gear. There is not enough slack to install the motor and set the gear clearance correctly. In fact, it is too tight.

Will the T3 or T2 bodies fit the RC10T?

I stripped out the heads of my Allen screws. What can I do?

Is there a standard for cutting/tuning the foam inserts for Pro-Line tires?

I need to know if the white nylon T3/T2 front and rear wheels were dyeable to a black color.

Will the T4 tranny fit in the T3? How different are the trucks?

1 t3/t4. Is the top shaft the same on the t4 as the t3? I see all the light weight parts like the outdrives and slipper plate and top shaft, is this a worth while investment? Do the your racers do it? I race stock only and it seems everyone, including me, is looking for "the edge".

No, the T4/B4 is different then the T3/B3. I would assume being lighter there would be less rotating mass-- that means quicker acceleration-- so I would assume there is a benefit to that.

2 Factory Team T3. I've heard the dual pad slipper clutch on the T4/B4 is far superior to the T3/B3. Can a person mount the new slipper clutch in the T3?

Sorry, you cannot.

3 There are 2 pins on the front suspension that have E-clips on both ends of each pin holding them in place. They keep popping off after running.

You can add some #5407 red O-rings to one end of the hinge pin and then replace the clips, that will add tension to them to help them not to pop off.

4 I'm not sure which truck I have.

Here are major differences:
RC10T (1991) = front tires narrower than rear’s. Tub chassis angled on the bottom.
RC10T Team Truck (1993) = front tires as wide as the rear’s. Tub chassis angled on the bottom.
RC10T2 (1995) = front tires wide as the rear’s. New style chassis is flat bottomed.
If your truck has a plastic chassis and has a molded, rounded rear shock tower, It's a T3.
If your truck has a plastic chassis and flat-sided, rear shock tower, it's a T2.
If your truck has a metal tub chassis, it's an old RC10T.

5 I want the same shocks that are on your T3 RTR for my own T3.

#6424B, shock body, rear, 1.32", blue aluminum (not anodized), $6.75 ea.
#6425B, shock body, front, 1.02", blue aluminum (not anodized), $6.75 ea.

6 I have a T3 and I keep stripping servos.

Make sure your servo saver is adjusted at the softest setting. If you have it tightened down all the way it cannot work properly when you run into something. Try that and see if it helps. You can also try our metal servo gear set for the RTR, #1650. $9.95.

7 I just bought some TEAM FACTORY GREEN SLIME SHOCK LUBE. How do I use it?

Put it on the O-rings inside of the shock and a small amount on the shock shaft inside the shock shaft, inside of the shock body.

8 I saw that there is a blue anodized front nose plate for the rc10gt. It's #7305B. Will it fit the rc10t?

Yes, the blue nose plate will fit the 10T.

9 Can your Team RC10T3 hold a 6 cell stick battery in the chassis?

It can, but the end caps for the battery must be taken off first.

10 For some reason the rubber tires slip off of the rims.

Did you glue the tires to the rims as the manual directs? look on page 24, in step one, it shows you how to do it and what type of glue to buy.

11 Is there a way to replace the slipper clutch tranny with a direct drive trans?

You do not have to run the slipper clutch; it is not mandatory. We do strongly suggest that you run it. You will need to get part numbers #6561 shaft and #6562 adapter if you intend to remove the slipper entirely.

12 I want to know why I have to put a 1/8" hole in the wheels of my T3.

The hole in the wheel is for air to escape from the tires. If you did not air out the tires, the tires would function like a balloon; they would not have any give and your truck would bounce. You want your truck to land off the jump and get traction as soon as possible. It can't do that if you land off a jump and bounce up and down; there is no traction while the truck is in the air!

14 I can't find any graphite parts for my T2.

Associated does not make graphite parts for the T2, nor does any other aftermarket company that we know of.

15 I am wanting to upgrade my RC10T3 rear axles to CVD's. What do I need to do this?

The MIP kit for the T3 will not work unless you purchase the bearings
for these axles. The bearings you need are the 3/16 x 3/8 bearings.

16 I am installing my stock motor into the T3 using the stock pinion 24t with
the 87t drive gear. There is not enough slack to install the motor and set the gear clearance correctly. In fact, it is too tight.

The correct motor gearing for a stock motor is either 22 or 23 pinion
with a 87 tooth spur gear. The stock motors can be run with those pinions with no problem. Going to a slightly smaller pinion will allow plenty of room for your motor. If you need more top speed try going to a smaller spur gear, first then a bigger pinion.

17 Will the T3 or T2 bodies fit the RC10T?

No, they will not.

18 I stripped out the heads of my Allen screws. What can I do?

Making a flat head screwdriver slot in the screws is a good idea if you are having trouble getting the screw further in or taking them out. I suggest you get a good quality 1/16 wrench. Associated sells one; the part is #6958.

19 Is there a standard for cutting/tuning the foam inserts for Pro-Line tires?

Most of the Team drivers bevel the inside edge of their foam. This will be the case for all Pro-Line tires.

20 I need to know if the white nylon T3/T2 front and rear wheels were dyeable to a black color.

The front and rear wheels are dyeable, but when you dye them you risk them warping. They will dye to any color you wish.

21 Will the T4 tranny fit in the T3? How different are the trucks?

The trucks are so different that you cannot really use any parts of any significance on the T3. The transmissions are similar but cannot be interchanged. The T3, as you will find out, is a more than capable truck of running with your dad’s T4, and to some people more durable as well.
