1) How to transfer your GT engine to the GT2: If you have a GT RTR, which has our #2916 AE engine, you would need our #29006 SG crankshaft to adapt the engine to use on the GT2. If you have a threaded crankshaft engine in your GT kit, you need the #2312 NTC3 clutch nut to use your engine in a new GT2.

2) You can use whatever manifold and muffler combination you ran on your old GT, as long as the muffler has a mount on the tip that is compatible with the muffler mount wire on the GT2.

2.1) If your old GT motor is side exhaust, it can be used in the GT2 with the proper accompanying hardware (2312 clutch nut, AE side exhaust manifold).

3) If your current muffler does not have a mount on it, then you should use the included FT blue muffler with the mount on it.

Answers

1 Will the GT2 work with a slide carb?

Yes it will.

2 The GT2 looks as if it uses T4-style front shock towers. Are the arms also the same as on the T4?

No.

3 Can a 5-cell receiver hump pack fit inside the radio box?

Yes.

4 Will an O.S. .18 engine fit in the GT2? Which specific servos will I need? Which starter boxes will fit?

Standard 1:10 scale servos will work. Our starter box #1750 will work great with the truck. As for the engine--as long as it is a small block, chances are it will fit.

5 With the new gear box ratio, is the GT2 going to be a little faster than the GT (with stock spur gear and suggested clutch bell, and an AE .15 motor)?

The speed will be very similar since the final drive ratios are very similar.

6 Will a T4 body fit on a GT2?

No.

7 How fast does it go?

30-45 mph, depending on which engine chosen and various other conditions.

8 Will there be a kit to convert my RC10GT to a GT2?

No kit will be released to convert from the old style to the new design. Too many parts were completely redesigned.

9 What kinds of engines will fit?

SG crank engines will fit into a GT2. Standard cranks will fit with the #2312 NTC3 clutch nut.

10 Will some of the LRP engines Associated offers fit the GT2?

Yes.

11 Does it accept a two-speed?

No.

12 Will the quick-change rear hubs work on my GT?

Yes, for the GT and T4.

13 Will the transmission fit my GT or T4?

No.

14 I can't find the #7991 Smoothy Blue Muffler on your web site.

The number in the earlier printed catalogs was wrong. It should be #7995.

15 How can I tell which parts from my other cars will fit the GT2?

Here's how you can figure out which of the parts from a different model will fit the GT2: Check the online parts list for your model. In the far right columns you’ll see the names of all the models the part fits. If "GT2" is listed, it will fit. Don't forget to look at the links at the left of that page for more parts categories, including the Factory Team parts.

16 How do I adjust my #1750 Starter Box to start the GT2?

Here's a link to the PDF that tells you where to move the pegs on the starter box to accommodate the GT2.

17 I noticed on the Factory Team GT2 setup sheets that a number of the team drivers have been cutting a little piece off of the top of their clutches.

Cutting the shoes slows the engagement, which helps out on slippery tracks.

18 My Factory Team GT2 came with 25 degree caster blocks. What kind of change should I expect from 30 degree blocks?

The 30 degree caster blocks will give you more steering entering a corner and a little less steering exiting a corner.

19 The engine revs really high during break-in when I am aggressive on the throttle and does not engage or have the punch like it should.

Make sure that your slipper is tightened properly in accordance to your manual. You may also want to take the clutch bell off and clean the inside of the clutch bell and shoes to remove any grease and oil. One final part to check is the differential. Make sure the diff is properly tightened.
