Team Associated and Reedy win Tasmanian Titles

The 2015 Tasmanian titles were held at the Goodwood RC club in Hobart, Tasmania (the island off southern Australia), February 20-22. Team Associated was represented with Team Associated/Reedy driver Ray Munday making the journey from Melbourne in addition to Australian Team Associated drivers Mark Rogers and young gun Cameron Zammit. The small but enthusiastic club had prepared a fun and challenging grooved dirt track and the summer sun was hot all weekend.

Ray Munday took the double TQ in 2WD and 4WD Modified with his Reedy-powered Team Associated buggies. After a tough series of finals against local hero Sam Wells, it was Wells (also running a B5M) who took the 2WD Modified win from Ray and the impressive Cameron. Still, B5Ms took first through to fourth. Ray and Cameron used Reedy Sonic 2 8.5T motors, Reedy Blackbox ESCs, and Reedy LiPo batteries in their B5Ms.

Ray hit back in 4WD Mod, taking the win in convincing fashion with his Reedy-powered B44.3, with Mark Rogers making it a 1-2 with his B44.3, and Cameron taking fourth after some qualifying issues. Ray and Cameron used Reedy Sonic 2 6.5T motors, Reedy Blackbox ESCs, and Reedy LiPo batteries in their B44.3s.

The B5M was the car of choice in the 17.5T classes as well, with Andrew Mackenzie winning the 2WD 17.5T class.

In the Junior 17.5T class, Ray's nine-year-old son Lachlan Munday took TQ and won all three finals with his B5M powered by Reedy motors, ESC and LiPo batteries.

Thanks to the club for putting on a great event!

Thanks to Ray Munday for this report.
