As the Philippine Nationals 2015 kick off in the summer season here in Asia, the first leg of the races is the 2WD Electric Buggy class. The B5 is facing stiff competition in it's second appearance in the local nationals scene. With two former national champions driving the B5 this year, chances are good that the B5 will bag the win after missing out last year.

After qualifying, former National champion Raffy Abello sat at pole with his B5 while 2014 National champion Alvin Diaz, who is now driving under Associated, made third. A clean start in the first mains gave the first main win to Abello. Unfortunately, unexpected errors allowed Novarossi driver Edward Sio to take the second heat. Diaz finishes third in both heats.

In the third heat, Abello manages a clean start and does his best to pull away, a technical glitch caused Diaz to go off the line late. Sio tries his best to catch up to Abello's B5 but in the end, Raffy Abello bags the third heat and the first Philippine National Championship for the B5. Alvin Diaz finished third overall and gave the B5 two of the three podium positions.
