Hebert's World Tour!

This Reedy/Factory driver continues to win races around the world! Just off his 1/12 Modified win at the ROAR Carpet Nationals, Keven traveled to Shanghai for the opening round of the 2015 Asian Onroad championships at the state-of-the-art RC1V2 facility on the outskirts of the city.

Preparation and precision are the key to a winning 1:12 program and like always, Keven showed up ready to win. Even though he encountered early challenges from JJ Wang in qualifying, Keven placed his Reedy-powered 12R5.2 on the pole position and never looked back on his way to wins in the first two legs of the main event and the championship. Rick Hohwart and JJ Wang fought nose to tail for the entire eight minutes in leg three, but JJ eventually came out on top to take second overall, with Rick Hohwart’s 12R5.2 rounding out the Reedy-powered podium sweep.

Keven returned home to Quebec City for a day to recover then hit the road again for the Mile High Indoor Championships (MHIC) in Denver, CO. The MHIC has quickly become one of the premier races on the calendar and unofficially ends the carpet racing season.

The 1/12 Modified class was once again all Hébert. After setting the fastest time in all four qualifying rounds, Keven took the win in the single A Main by more than a lap over second place. Keven capped a successful weekend with a second-place finish in the highly competitive Modified Touring class with his TC6.2.

Finally back home after what seemed like weeks on the road, Keven attended the Quebec On-Road National at the CTSH Circuit in St-Hyacinthe. Typically a modified class racer, Keven was encouraged by the local racers to also compete in the Stock 17.5 class, which he gladly did.

Keven took rewarding wins in both classes, but later explained that is was not all about the racing: "It was a great race and good to help people. I had time to work on a lot of cars and help a lot of guys out, and it was very rewarding to see how much people enjoyed and appreciated getting help either driving or tuning their cars."

A much-needed break is in store but be sure to catch coverage of Keven in action at the Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions May 21-24 in Aliso Viejo, CA on LiveRC.com with RedRC.net.
