Held at Denver, Colorado's Rat Raceway, the Colorado 1/8th Scale State Championships brought out the top Colorado pro drivers including Losi's Dustin Evans, Matt Chambers, and Associated/ Reedy's Adrian Redding. However, the show was stolen by Redding's teammate and up-and-coming racer Kody Numendahl.

Unable to qualify on Saturday due to commitments at school, Numedahl started last in the bottom final and bumped all the way in to the A Main event. Starting from ninth on the grid, Numendahl quickly found his way to the front by the fifth lap. Utilizing his Reedy 121VR-powered Team Associated RC8B, Numendahl gapped the field and drove off into the distance to claim the State Championship. This is Numendahl's first 1/8th State Championship, but with efforts like this, surely won't be his last.
