Blake Blows Away 3 at the Black Saturday Blowout

Team Associated driver Chris Rakus and Blake Boggs attended the Black Saturday Blowout at Radioactive Raceway in Wingo, Kentucky. Blake raced 1:10 Mod 2WD Buggy, 1:10 4WD Buggy, and 1:8 Ebuggy. Chris raced 1:10 Mod 2WD and 1:8 Ebuggy. With 120 entries in the one-day event, we ran Rocket Round with three five-minute qualifiers and single eight-minute A Mains.

In Mod 2WD Buggy Blake's Reedy-powered Team Associated B5M Factory Lite and Chris' B5M were dialed all weekend. With TQ swaps between Chris and Blake, Blake was able to take overall TQ with Chris starting second. Rakus and Blake swapped the lead early and eventually Blake pulled away near the end to take the win, with driver Chris Rakus finishing third.

In 1:10 4WD Buggy Blake had a couple of rough qualifiers and a mechanical issue that landed him in the second starting spot behind Xray's Jaskot. In the main, Jaskot and Blake took an early lead, pulling away from the group. After trailing Jaskot, Blake was able to overtake and run ahead for a solid win with his Reedy-powered Factory Team B44.3.

In 1:8 Ebuggy Rakus, along with Blake's Reedy-powered RC8B3e, were in a world of their own. Blake eventually took overall TQ with Rakus starting in second. In the main, Rakus and Blake drove away from the field and went 1-2, with Blake taking the win and Rakus in second.
