Hebert Wins Canadian On-Road Nationals!

The Canadian Nationals is becoming one of the best attended and competitive events on the North American Racing calendar. A field of over 330 entries crowded into Seaway Mall near Niagara Falls to compete on the challenging track which had been laid out in the mall's center court. Throughout the weekend, thousands of spectators, many who had never seen RC racing before, were treated to racing action every bit as exciting as the "real" thing.

Because no Modified class was offered, AE/Reedy driver Keven Hebert chose to take on a huge challenge and race in the 1/12 13.5 Super Stock class against North America's top up-and-comers. Even though Keven has little experience in the class, he set the TQ time in qualifying round one with his Reedy-powered 12R5.2 and maintained his position throughout the remaining rounds. A pole position start for Sunday's main event was his reward for the impressive qualifying performance.

Keven found the main event to be far more eventful than qualifying had been. After tangling with a backmarker early on, which cost Keven the lead, he patiently worked his way back into the lead and never looked back to take the win and the title of Canadian National Champion!
