Team Associated and Reedy dominated the 2WD portion of the 2016 Victorian Titles with Mitchell Steer (2WD Modified) and Ray Munday (SCT) taking out state titles on the 2WD day with their Team Associated/Reedy B5M and SC5M vehicles. In 2WD Modified, 9 out of the top 10 vehicles were B5M buggies, and in SCT eight of the A-Main trucks were filled with SC5Ms! Reedy products also swept the 2WD Modified podium and took 1-2 in SCT. Four of the five classes were won by the Team Associated 5M line.

The weekend saw over 190 entries converge at the Keilor Club in Melbourne, Australia for the 2016 Victorian Titles sponsored by JConcepts Australia. Racers were treated to an outdoor track with a combination of high-speed sections, elevation changes and a huge triple jump, with a natural clay surface that grooved up through the weekend, providing great racing. The weather was perfect for practice and 2WD day; however, Mother Nature won on Sunday with heavy rains causing cancellation of the 4WD portion of the event.

The entry list was stacked with seven of the 2015 Nats A finalists in attendance and entries from all around Australia, including 2014 National champions Josh Pain and Chris Sturdy, as well as the Queensland young guns Mitchell Steer and Alex Bernadzik.

2WD Modified
Qualifying was a three-way battle between Ray Munday (Team Associated/Reedy), Chris Sturdy (Yokomo/Reedy/Fantom) and Mitchell Steer (Team Associated/Reedy). It came down to the final lap of Q4 with Steer taking TQ narrowly from Munday, and Sturdy placing in third.

The finals were incredibly close between Steer and Munday, with A2 decided by 0.1 second! Steer was too fast in A3 and took a popular win from Munday, with Sturdy in third. Glen Bonetti (Team Associated) was fourth and Matt Griffin (Team Associated) was fifth. Nine of the A finalists were using B5M buggies.

2WD SCT
This was a re-match of the 2015 nationals with Team Associated young guns Alex Bernadzik and Cameron Zammit battling with Ray Munday. 'Cam Zam' took Q1, with Ray taking the next three qualifiers to take TQ. In A1 Cameron got the jump on Ray and held on for the win after some intense racing. In A2 Ray lead from the tone to set up a third final showdown. This was an epic race with several lead changes among the top five trucks battling. Ray took the win and the title, with Cameron second and Alex third, reversing the nats podium. Mark Rogers and Matt Kellett rounded out the top five for Team Associated.

2WD Junior
Victoria has a very strong junior scene. 12 kids lined up for the battle, with most being under 12 years of age. B5Ms took first and second by Kye Drust and Dustin Densley, both from Mildura.

2WD 21.5
The Team Associated B5M was also victorious in the 21.5T class, with Nathan Krohn TQing and finishing first in this competitive class.
