Team Associated takes 5 at the Ohio Valley Championship

Over the weekend, 200 entrants converged on Clarksville Speedway Park in northern Tennessee for the Ohio Valley Championship at Speed-Line RC Raceway.

The event program consisted of practice on Friday, qualifiers on Saturday, and mains on Sunday. With a rather unique venue, Speed-Line Raceway had 1/8 mile drag racing in the background on Friday and full-size late-model dirt oval action on Saturday. This gave the racers extra excitement on top of the normal RC racing, with many joining the other spectators to see some full-size racing action.

Team Associated had drivers on hand for support and racing action in multiple classes.

Matt Cline made the trip from Cincinnati, Ohio to compete in Mod 2WD Buggy, Open 1/10 4WD Buggy and 1/8 eBuggy. Matt took all of his Reedy-powered B5M Factory Lite, Factory Team B44.3 and RC8B3e vehicles to the winner's circle after some close battles and very impressive driving.

Blake Boggs joined Matt in the winner's circle with the new RC8T3 Nitro Truggy. Also competing in Pro eBuggy, Blake finished second behind Matt Cline. To round out the solid weekend, Boggs finished fifth after a late race mechanical issue and Team Associated driver Tyler Jones (TQ) finished second in Pro Nitro Buggy with their RC8B3s. Privateer Hunter Cupp took his RC8B3 to the win in Open Nitro Buggy.
