Chris Grainger and Team Associated Crowned BRCA Champions

Chris Grainger confirmed his position at the top of the UK Touring Car scene by taking the overall BRCA Championship title.

The final round of the series, held at the West London Racing Centre, saw drivers having to contend with incredibly wet conditions on the first day. However, Chris was confident that the championship was well within his grasp, and notched up two second places in the wet rounds to ensure that he would be starting near the front of the A-Final grid. On Sunday, the drivers were greeted with much nicer weather to battle through the triple leg finals.

Starting ahead of the only driver who could beat him to the title, Chris drove three calculated A Finals with his newly announced Team Associated TC7.1 chassis to keep his competitor behind him, secure a podium result, and thus lift the 2016 BRCA title. That meant Chris had finished no worse than third at any of the five BRCA championship events this year - a remarkable achievement. Three other Team Associated drivers finished in the top ten: Matthew White in fourth, Zak Smith in sixth, and Alan Bickerstaff in seventh, all with Reedy power in Team Associated vehicles.

In the popular Pro Stock class, Team Associated didn't fair quite as well as at the previous rounds of the championship. Nonetheless, Chris Clark flew the flag for the team strongly, and lined up third on the A Final grid. After all the championship points were added up, three Team Associated drivers finished in the top ten (Mark Wallace, Chris Clarke, and Michael Bolt, all with Team Associated cars), with Michael Bolt concluding a break-out season to secure the Junior runner-up position.
