5 Team Associated Victories at the JBRL Electric Round 7!

This past weekend the team headed down to San Jacinto, CA for the seventh round of the JBRL Electric Off-Road Series. Leading the charge for Team Associated and Reedy was Nationals A-Main finalist Jake Mayo, who was accompanied by teammates Nick Wautlet and Jesse Granat. With just over 150 entries, the crowd was set for an exciting day of racing.

In qualifying, Mayo and Wautlet put in solid runs on the changing track conditions, but came up just short of the TQs. Mayo started second in 2WD Modified Buggy and Wautlet started fourth in 2WD Modified Buggy and second in Modified Short Course.

In the Mains, Short Course was up first. Starting from second on the grid, Wautlet made a pass with his SC5M for the lead and sprinted right to the top podium.

In Modified 2WD Buggy, local fast kid Jeremy Hase Jr. sat on the pole, followed by Mayo and Wautlet. At the sound of the tone, Mayo and his B6 with laydown tranny applied formidable skill and patience to press Hase Jr. into a mistake. From there, Mayo held on to an 8-second lead to take home the win for the weekend. Wautlet came back after a rocky start up to third place, but a small error on the last lap cost him, and he finished just off the podium in fourth.

Also taking wins with Team Associated vehicles were Tyler Fenster in the Modified Truck driving the T5M and 4WD Buggy with the Factory Team B44.3, while Rick Martin won the Stock Truck class with his T5M.
