Team Associated and Reedy Power Dominate Coleman Cup

Team Associated and Reedy dominated the 2016 Coleman Cup with a clean sweep of the podiums in the modified classes, led by factory drivers Ray Munday (2WD Open) and Cameron Zammit (4WD Open and Truck Open).

The Coleman Cup memorial race has been running since 1995 in honor of young racer Brendan Coleman, who had tragically passed away. The 2016 edition was held at the Melbourne Keilor Offroad RC Club, where over 80 entries raced for the prestigious trophies. The club worked hard to put on a good track; unfortunately, Mother Nature stepped in during the day, and her ever-increasing gale force winds forced the event to be cancelled on safety grounds after qualifying.

2WD Open saw a podium clean sweep for the Team Associated B6D buggy, with Ray Munday (B6D, Reedy, JConcepts) first, Andrew Selvaggi (B6D) second and Cameron Zammit (B6D, Reedy, Pro-Line) third.

4WD Open saw a result identical to the Victorian Titles two weeks prior, with 15-year-old 'Cam Zam' in first place, Ray Munday in second, and 10-year-old Lachlan Munday in third, all driving B44.3 buggies with Reedy power.

Cameron also took the Truck Open class with his Reedy-powered T5M.

In the highly competitive 17.5T classes, 11-year-old Jordan Isergin continued his strong form with a first in 4WD 17.5T (with his B44.3) and second in 2WD 17.5T (with his B5M). Nathan Krohn took the 2WD 21.5T class, giving Team Associated five out of six possible class wins for the day.

At the end of the day, the prestigious Coleman Cup trophy for sportsmanship was awarded to Peter Wooster from Wodonga, a fitting recognition for the work he has put into the sport over the years.
