Team Associated and Reedy Dominate Down Under!

Team Associated and Reedy dominated the final round of the Victorian Drivers Series in Australia, with factory drivers Ray Munday (2WD and 4WD Mod) and Cameron 'CamZam' Zammit (Truck Mod) taking victory in the open classes. AE also took a clean sweep of the podium in the Mod Buggy classes and won eight out of nine classes in the event!

The Keilor Cup had been postponed two weeks due to an unseasonal summer storm, but 132 entries were received for the one-day event, making for a long day. Racers had to contend with the heat of the Australian summer sun and were treated to a hard-packed outdoors track that the club had worked very hard to prepare. With the sun drying the track out fast, racers had to set their car up for a hard base with some dust on the surface. With the highly adjustable B6D platform, most racers opted for a standup transmission.

Modified Buggy Classes: Ray Munday (AE/Reedy) took TQ and the win in both the 2WD and 4WD Buggy classes, sealing the Drivers' series victory in both classes with his B6D and B64D buggies. Close behind in both classes was Andrew Selvaggi, taking second for the series. Showing the depth of talent in the AE Australian team, the podium position in both modified classes was taken by AE junior racers Lachlan Munday (11 years old), third in 2WD Mod, and Jordan Isergin (13 years old), third in 4WD Mod!

Mod Truck and 4WD SCT: Cameron Zammit was strong in Mod truck, taking TQ and the win from young gun Jordan Isergin, both running T5Ms. However, it was Isergin taking the series win for the year, a fantastic result in his first year of modified! CamZam also took TQ and the win in the 4x4 SCT class at the event with his SC10 4x4.

SCT: Mark Rogers (SC5M/Reedy) took TQ and the win in this class, with Brian Stewart (SC5M) in second.

2WD 17.5: This was the biggest class of the event with close to 30 entries. Ben Howard (B6D) not only took his first overall win in the class, but also was on the club committee running the event. Scott Matthews (B6D), another racer who worked hard on the track, placed third.

2WD Junior 17.5: The junior racing scene is very strong in Victoria, with two heats of under 16 racers battling for the win. Nathan Facciol (14 years old) has been working really hard with his B5M and took TQ and the win, Brian Lawrence taking third with a B5M, and Mitchell Isergin fourth (also B5M). Nine out of the ten juniors in the A final used AE buggies. This result also gave Nathan second overall in the drivers' series.

2WD 21.5: Dale Brown (B6D) took the TQ and win at the event, with Matt Spencer (B6D) 3rd. This was enough to give Matt the overall Drivers' Series win, with Dale 2nd.

Thanks to the club for putting on a great event and all of the racers who travel to support the series!
