This past weekend, Darkside and Apex Hobbies hosted the Tennessee State Carpet On-Road Championships just outside of Nashville, TN. This is the seond major on-road event hosted by this great facility this year, and even more to come like the Worlds 1/12 Scale Warm-up and the USVTA Nationals in September.

Team Associated and Reedy Power Team drivers were in attendance running some of the latest Reedy Power products including the SP5 25.5 motors. Myron Kinnard, Logan Pilcher, and Scott Pilcher ran classes ranging from USVTA and Euro Truck to USGT and GT12. The Pilchers did a great job of testing the new motor on Saturday and was able to get the motor to set some very impressive lap times.

After a long Saturday of test and tune, Sunday brought on the qualifiers and mains, with USVTA being the largest class, followed by USGT and Euro Truck.

In USGT, Logan was able to show that his Reedy Power-equipped Team Associated TC7.2 was still able to make an impact by making the A Main in P6. He finshed fourth overall. In USVTA he even did better with an A-Main P3 qualifier and held his third-place position for 30-plus laps before an on-track accident made for an early exit. Still finished sixth.

Scott Pilcher ran his Reedy Powered Euro Truck and mostly mechanic on Team vehicles (and others). He was able to get a run in as well and put himself in the A Main. He finished ninth as well.

Myron Battman Kinnard took in four classes at the event, and with the help of Scott was able to finish all four classes in the A Main. My Reedy Power and Element Euro Truck brought the noise and lights to land a P5 start and a fourth-place finish. In GT12, I ran my trusty Team Associated 12R5.2 with Reedy Power 510R 1s and lipo to grab a P2 start and fourth-place finish. USGT My Reedy Power vehicle was good for TQ until the last qualifier, and had to settle for P2, as well as second-place finish. Vintage Trans-Am (VTA) was a showcase for the new Reedy Power Sonic SP5 25.5. and took TQ and I reset it in the last qualifier as well. My Reedy Powered VTA car was almost perfect for the entire day with a wire-to-wire victory and second TN State title in two years!

Team Associated and Reedy Power Team did a great job at the event and will continue to the next race/event as well. Thank you to the Crew at Apex!
